“A man’s every breath is a step toward his death.”
Reflections: Imam Ali ؑ offers a profound perspective on time. We often think of breathing as a repetitive cycle that sustains life, but the Imam reminds us that it is also a countdown. Each breath reduces our remaining time on this earth. This realization is not meant to cause despair, but to inspire urgency—to use every “step” (breath) for a purpose that lasts beyond this life.
