The Honesty of Ignorance

📜
Original Arabic •

Urdu Translation •

English Translation •

“Whoever abandons saying ‘I do not know’ will meet his destruction.”

Reflections: Imam Ali ؑ teaches us that admitting ignorance is a form of protection. When we pretend to know things we don’t, we make mistakes, mislead others, and stop learning. True wisdom lies in recognizing the limits of our knowledge. Saying “I do not know” is not a sign of weakness; it is a shield that prevents us from falling into errors that could destroy our reputation or our spiritual well-being.
