Forgiveness and Power

📜
Original Arabic •

Urdu Translation •

English Translation •

“The person most entitled to forgive is the one who is most capable of punishing.”

Reflections: Imam Ali ؑ teaches that the true test of mercy is not when one is weak, but when one is in a position of strength. Forgiveness is a virtue of the powerful. When you have the absolute right and physical ability to retaliate but choose to let it go for the sake of Allah, you demonstrate a level of spiritual maturity that transforms your character and often the heart of your opponent.
