In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful.

عظیم اور دائمی رحمتوں والے خدا کے نام سے

O Allah, O He Who extended the morning’s tongue in the speech of its dawning,

اے میرے معبود! جس نے صبح کی زبان کو روشنی کی گویائی دی

dispatched the fragments of the dark night into the gloom of its stammering,

اور اندھیری رات کے ٹکڑوں کو لرزتی تاریکیوں سمیت ہنکا دیا

made firm the structure of the turning spheres in the measure of its display,

اور گھومتے آسمان کی ساخت کو اسکے برجوں سے محکم کیا

and beamed forth the brightness of the sun through the light of its blazing!

اور سورج کی روشنی کو اسکے نور فروزاں سے چمکایا

O He Who demonstrates His Essence by His Essence,

اے وہ جس نے اپنی ذات پر اپنی ذات کو دلیل بنایا

transcends from congeniality with His creatures,

جو اپنی مخلوقات کا ہم جنس ہونے سے پاک ہے

and is exalted beyond conformity with His qualities!

اور اسکی کیفیتوں کی آمیزش سے بلند ہے

O He Who is near to the passing thoughts of opinions,

اے وہ جو ظنی خیالوں سے قریب ہے

far from the regards of eyes,

اور آنکھوں کی دید سے دور ہے

and knows what will be before it comes to be!

اور ہونے والی چیزوں کو ہونے سے پہلے جان چکا ہے

O He Who has put me at ease in the cradle of His security and sanctuary,

اے وہ جس نے مجھے اپنے امن و سلامتی کے گہوارے میں سلایا

awakened me to the favors and kindness that He has bestowed upon me,

اور اپنی بخشش اور احسان کو پانے کیلئے مجھے بیدار کیا

and held back from me the claws of evil with His hand and His authority!

اپنی قدرت و اقتدار سے برائی کو مجھ پر ہاتھ ڈالنے سے روکا

Bless, O Allah, the guide to You in the darkest night,

اے معبود اس پر رحمت فرما جو تاریک رات میں تیری طرف رہنمائی کرنے والا ہے

who, of Your ropes, clings to the cord of the longest nobility,

تیرے سہاروں میں سے شرف کی پائیدار رسی کو پکڑے والا

whose pure lineage evident at the summit of stout shoulders,

اعلیٰ خاندان میں سے چمکتی پیشانی والا، استوار روش والا

and whose feet were entrenched in spite of slippery places in ancient time.

آغاز ہی سے لغزشوں کے مواقع پر ثابت قدم رہنے والا ہے

And [bless] his household, the good, chosen, and pious.

اور اس نبی کی نیکوکار برگزیدہ خوش کردار آلؑ پر رحمت فرما

Open for us, O Allah, the leaves of the morning’s door

اے معبود! اپنی رحمت و بخشش کی کنجیوں سے ہمارے لئے صبح کے دروازے کھول دے

with the keys of mercy and prosperity!

رحمت اور فلاح کی کنجیوں سے

Clothe me, O Allah, with the most excellent robes of guidance and righteousness!

اے معبود مجھے نیکی وہدایت کی بہترین خلعت پہنادے

Plant, O Allah, through Your tremendousness, the springs of humility in my heart!

خداوند! اپنی عظمت کے باعث میرے دل میں اپنے خوف کی لہریں دوڑادے

Cause to flow, O Allah, through fear of You, tears of moaning from my eyes!

اے معبود! اپنی ہیبت کیلئے میری آنکھوں سے آنسوؤں کے تار جاری کردے

Chastise, O Allah, the recklessness of my clumsiness with contentment!

خدایا میری کج خلقی کو قناعت کی لگام ڈال دے

My God, if mercy from You does not begin with fair success for me,

میرے اللہ اگر تو نے اپنی رحمت سے مجھے نیکی کی توفیق نہ دی

then who can take me to You upon the evident path?

تو کون مجھے تیری طرف کشادہ راہ پر لے چلے گا

If Your deliberateness should turn me over to the guide of hope,

اور اگر تیری دی ہوئی ڈھیل سے میں خواہش کے پیچھے چل پڑا

then who will annul my slips from the stumbles of caprice?

تو کون مجھے ہوس کی ٹھوکروں سے بچائے گا

If Your help should forsake me in the battle against the soul and Satan,

اور اگر میرے نفس اور شیطان کی جنگ میں تیری نصرت میرے شامل حال نہ ہوتی

then Your forsaking will have submitted me to hardship.

تو گویا تیری دوری نے مجھے رنج و غم کے حوالے کر دیا ہوتا

My God, do You see that I have only come to You from the direction of hopes,

میرے مالک کیا تیری نظر سے میں تیرے پاس اپنی خواہشوں کیلئے آیا ہوں

or clung to Your cords when my sins have driven me away?

یا میں نے تجھ سے اس وقت علاقہ قائم کیا کہ جب میرے گناہوں نے مجھے دور کردیا

So what an evil mount upon which my soul has mounted!

پس میرے دل نے خواہشوں کو اپنی بری سواری بنالیا

My God, I have knocked upon the door of Your mercy with my hope,

الہی میں نے اپنی امید کے ہاتھوں تیرے بابِ رحمت پر دستک دی ہے

So pardon, O Allah, the slips and errors I have committed,

اے معبود! مجھ سے جو لغزشیں اور خطائیں ہوئی ہیں ان سے چشم پوشی فرما

for You are my Master, my Protector, my Support and my Hope.

کیونکہ تو میرا آقا و مالک اور میرا سہارا اور امید ہے

My God, how could You drive away a poor beggar seeking refuge?

میرے معبود! تو اس بے چارے کو کیسے نکال دے گا جو تیرے پاس بھاگ کر آیا ہے

There is no god but You. Glory be to You, O Allah, and praise be to You.

تیرے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں پاک ہے تو اے اللہ اور حمد تیرے ہی لیے ہے
