The Reality of Good and Evil
خیر اور شر کی حقیقت
مَا خَيْرٌ بِخَيْرٍ بَعْدَهُ النَّارُ، وَمَا شَرٌّ بِشَرٍّ بَعْدَهُ الْجَنَّةُ.
وہ بھلائی، بھلائی نہیں جس کے بعد دوزخ ہو، اور وہ برائی (تکلیف)، برائی نہیں جس کے بعد جنت ہو۔
“That good is no good after which there is Hell-fire, and that evil is no evil after which there is Paradise.”
Reflections: Imam Ali ؑ redefines our standard of success and failure. We often judge our lives by immediate comfort or temporary struggle. However, this wisdom teaches us that the ultimate value of any situation is determined by its end result. Prosperity that leads to transgression is a disguised failure, while a hardship that purifies the soul and leads to eternal peace is a disguised blessing.
