إِذَا تَمَّ الْعَقْلُ نَقَصَ الْكَلاَمُ.
Urdu Translation • اردو ترجمہ
جب عقل کامل ہو جاتی ہے تو کلام (گفتگو) میں کمی آ جاتی ہے۔
English Translation • انگریزی ترجمہ
“When the intellect becomes complete, speech becomes brief.”
Reflections: Imam Ali ؑ identifies a direct correlation between mental maturity and verbal restraint. A person with a refined intellect values quality over quantity; they speak only when necessary and choose their words with precision. Excessive talking often indicates a restless mind or a lack of deep thought, whereas silence—and brevity when speaking—is the hallmark of a wise and focused soul.
