The Pinnacle of Patience
“Patience is of two kinds: patience over what you dislike, and patience against what you desire (crave).”
Reflections: Imam Ali ؑ categorizes patience as a total discipline of the soul. The first kind is **Endurance**: staying firm during trials, pain, or loss. The second kind—often considered more difficult—is **Restraint**: the ability to say “no” to a desire that is harmful or forbidden ($Haraam$). To master both is to reach the pinnacle of human character, as it balances the strength of the heart with the control of the intellect.
