أَوْلَى النَّاسِ بِالْعَفْوِ أَقْدَرُهُمْ عَلَى الْعُقُوبَةِ.

معاف کرنے کا سب سے زیادہ حقدار وہ شخص ہے جو سزا دینے پر سب سے زیادہ قدرت رکھتا ہو۔
English Translation • انگریزی ترجمہ
“The person most worthy of practicing forgiveness is the one who has the greatest power to punish.”
Reflections: Imam Ali ؑ redefines Strength and Nobility. True forgiveness ($`Afw$) is not a sign of weakness; rather, it is the ultimate expression of power. When a person has the authority and ability to take revenge but chooses mercy instead, they reflect a Divine attribute. This wisdom teaches us that the higher our status or power, the greater our responsibility to be lenient and forgiving toward others.
