Power and Character
“Whoever acts with stubbornness in his own opinion perishes, and whoever consults others shares in their intellects.”
Reflections: Imam Ali ؑ highlights that the greatest weakness of those in power is often intellectual arrogance. True leadership is not about imposing one’s will, but about having the humility to seek counsel. By consulting others, a leader effectively multiplies their own intelligence by the experiences and insights of many. Self-centered decision-making leads to a vacuum of truth, which inevitably leads to downfall.
