نَفَسُ الْمَرْءِ خُطَاهُ إِلَى أَجَلِهِ.

انسان کی ہر سانس اس کی موت کی طرف ایک قدم ہے۔

“A man’s every breath is a step toward his death.”
Reflections: This is one of the most concise yet profound observations in Nahjul Balagha. Imam Ali ؑ points out that we often perceive breathing as a sign of life and continuity, but in reality, each breath represents the depletion of our fixed lifespan. Time is not static; it is a journey. This wisdom encourages us to utilize every breath for goodness, as each one brings us closer to our ultimate meeting with the Creator.
