Leadership by Example
“Whoever sets himself up as a leader for the people should begin by teaching himself before teaching others.”
Reflections: Imam Ali ؑ sets a gold standard for leadership. He argues that moral authority is not granted by title, but earned through personal conduct. A leader must be a practitioner of what they preach. If one seeks to reform society or a group, the first project of reformation must be their own soul. Teaching through actions and character is far more effective and honorable than teaching through words alone.
