Self-Correction First
“The greatest defect is to find fault in others while the same defect exists in yourself.”
Reflections: Imam Ali ؑ points out a common psychological blind spot. Humans often find it easy to criticize others for habits, behaviors, or moral failings that they themselves possess. He labels this “the greatest defect” because it combines the original fault with the added sin of hypocrisy and a lack of self-awareness. True growth begins when we turn our critical eye inward before casting judgment outward.
