Original Arabic •

Urdu Translation •

English Translation •

“Do not be ashamed of what has passed you by, for indeed, Allah does not accept gratitude for what has passed by.”

Reflections: Imam Ali ؑ teaches us about spiritual resilience. When we lose an opportunity or a blessing, dwelling on it with regret or shame is counterproductive. These past things are gone, and we cannot show true gratitude (Shukr) for something that is no longer in our possession. Instead of looking back with shame, a believer is encouraged to look forward, trusting in Allah’s wisdom and actively seeking new opportunities to serve Him and do good.
