Patience and Truth

📜
Original Arabic •

Urdu Translation •

English Translation •

“Patience is of two kinds: patience over what you dislike, and patience against what you desire.”

Reflections: Imam Ali ؑ categorizes patience into two essential struggles. The first is “Passive Patience”—enduring hardships, pain, and calamities without losing faith. The second is “Active Patience”—disciplining the soul to resist temptations and forbidden desires. Mastering both forms leads to complete self-control and spiritual maturity.
