Action and Retribution
قول و فعل کا بدلہ
مَنْ أَسْرَعَ إِلَى النَّاسِ بِمَا يَكْرَهُونَ، قَالُوا فِيهِ مَا لَا يَعْلَمُونَ.
جو شخص لوگوں کی برائی کرنے میں جلدی کرتا ہے، تو لوگ اس کے بارے میں وہ باتیں (برائیاں) کہتے ہیں جو وہ جانتے بھی نہیں ہیں۔
“Whoever hastens to say about people what they dislike, they will say about him what they do not know.”
Reflections: Imam Ali ؑ highlights a social law of cause and effect. If a person is quick to criticize, insult, or expose the faults of others, they lose their social protection. In retaliation, people will not only highlight that person’s real faults but will likely invent and spread rumors about things that aren’t even true. Protecting the dignity of others is, in reality, a way of protecting your own reputation.
