Signs of Deep Faith
ایمان کی گہرائی
لَا يَجِدُ عَبْدٌ طَعْمَ الْإِيمَانِ حَتَّى يَتْرُكَ الْمِرَاءَ وَإِنْ كَانَ مُحِقّاً.
کوئی بندہ اس وقت تک ایمان کا ذائقہ نہیں چکھ سکتا جب تک وہ جھگڑا کرنا نہ چھوڑ دے، چاہے وہ حق پر ہی کیوں نہ ہو۔
“A servant of Allah cannot taste the sweetness of faith until he gives up arguing, even if he is in the right.”
Reflections: Imam Ali ؑ teaches that “Faith” is not just a mental conviction but an experience with a specific “taste.” One of the greatest barriers to this spiritual sweetness is the ego’s desire to win arguments. By giving up unnecessary debate—even when we are right—we prioritize inner peace and humility over the validation of being “correct,” which leads to a higher state of spiritual maturity.
