Patience, Piety and Self-Restraint
صبر، تقویٰ اور زہد
الْعَجْزُ آفَةٌ، وَالصَّبْرُ شَجَاعَةٌ، وَالزُّهْدُ ثَرْوَةٌ، وَالْوَرَعُ جُنَّةٌ، وَنِعْمَ الْقَرِينُ الرِّضَى.
بے بسی ایک آفت ہے، اور صبر شجاعت ہے، اور دنیا سے بے رغبتی ایک بڑی دولت ہے، اور پرہیزگاری ایک ڈھال ہے، اور بہترین ساتھی خدا کی رضا پر خوش رہنا ہے۔
“Inability is a disaster; patience is bravery; abstinence is a treasure; self-restraint is a shield; and the best companion is submission to Divine Will.”
Reflections: Imam Ali (as) redefines true wealth and power. He teaches that real bravery is found in patience, and the ultimate protection (shield) against the trials of life is piety (Wara’). To be content with God’s decree is to have the most loyal companion on the journey of life.
