زيارة النبي محمد
Ziyarat of the Holy Prophet (saw)
1. Preparation
Repeat one hundred times:
اَللَّهُ اكْبَرُ
Allahu Akbar (Allah is the Greatest)
2. At the Holy Chamber
Approach the tomb, touch it, kiss it, and say:
السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا رَسُولَ ٱللَّهِ
alssalamu `alayka ya rasula allahi
Peace be upon you, O Messenger of Allah.
السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا خَاتَمَ ٱلنَّبِيِّينَ
alssalamu `alayka ya khatama alnnabiyyina
Peace be upon you, O Seal of the Prophets.
اشْهَدُ انَّكَ قَدْ بَلَّغْتَ ٱلرِّسَالَةَ وَاقَمْتَ ٱلصَّلاةَ وَآتَيْتَ ٱلزَّکَاةَ
I bear witness that you conveyed the Mission, performed the prayers, and gave alms.
3. Standing near the Head
Stand near the fore pillar, facing Kiblah, and say:
اشْهَدُ انْ لاَ إِلٰهَ إِلاَّ ٱللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَهُ
I bear witness that there is no god save Allah, One and Only and having no associate.
وَاشْهَدُ انَّ مُحَمَّداً عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ
I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger.
4. Seeking Nearness
وَإِنِّي اتَيْتُكَ مُسْتَغْفِراً تَائِباً مِنْ ذُنُوبِي
Here I am, before you, asking Allah’s forgiveness, repenting from my sins.
وَإِنِّي اتَوَجَّهُ بِكَ إِلَىٰ ٱللَّهِ رَبِّي وَرَبِّكَ لِيَغْفِرَ لِي ذُنُوبِي
And seeking your intercession for me before Almighty Allah—your and my Lord—that He may forgive my sins.
5. Maqam Jibra'il
Recite at the standing-place of Archangel Gabriel:
اسْالُكَ ايْ جَوَادُ ايْ كَرِيمُ ايْ قَرِيبُ ايْ بَعِيدُ انْ تَرُدَّ عَلَيَّ نِعْمَتَكَ
I beseech You, O All-magnanimous, O All-generous, O Nigh, O Remote, to renew Your boons to me.
6. Farewell Ziyarat
السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَسْتَوْدِعُكَ اللَّهَ وَ أَسْتَرْعِیکَ
Peace be on you, O Apostle of Allah. I entrust you with Allah and I request Him to take care of you.
اللَّهُمَّ لاَ تَجْعَلْهُ آخِرَ الْعَهْدِ مِنِّي لِزِيَارَةِ قَبْرِ نَبِيِّکَ
O Allah let not my this visitation to the grave of Your Prophet be my last.
