Winning the Hearts
“The hearts of people are like wild beasts; whoever tames them (through kindness and good character), they turn towards him.”
Reflections: Imam Ali ؑ uses a powerful metaphor: the human heart is naturally guarded and suspicious, much like a “wild beast” that is easily startled. You cannot force a heart to love you or trust you through authority. Instead, it must be “tamed” or won over through consistent Kindness ($Ihsan$) and Gentleness. This wisdom teaches us that true leadership and social harmony start with emotional intelligence and the ability to make others feel safe and valued.
