The Value of Time
“Whoever has long-term (worldly) hopes, his actions become corrupt.”
Reflections: Imam Ali ؑ identifies a critical flaw in human productivity. When we let our “hopes” for the distant future become an obsession, we start to procrastinate on our actual duties. Long hopes create a false sense of security, making us feel like we have infinite time. This leads to the corruption of action ($`Amal$), as we sacrifice the urgent needs of the soul for the sake of a future that may never arrive.
