The Passing World
“For every approaching (good fortune) there is a turning away (decline); and whatever turns away is as though it never existed.”
Reflections: Imam Ali ؑ offers a powerful perspective on the transience of life. He reminds us that worldly success, power, and health are all cyclical. When fortune leaves a person, it disappears so completely from their grasp that the memory of it feels like a dream. This wisdom encourages humility during times of prosperity and patience during times of decline, as neither state is permanent.
