The Mirror of Deeds

📜
Original Arabic •

Urdu Translation •

English Translation •

“Every person has two partners in his wealth: the heir and the accidents (of fortune).”

Reflections: Imam Ali ؑ offers a sobering reality check regarding material possession. He reminds us that we never truly “own” our wealth in isolation. Either it will be taken from us during our life by the unexpected turns of time (accidents/losses), or it will be divided by others after we are gone (heirs). The only portion of wealth that truly belongs to us is that which we spend in the way of Allah for the benefit of humanity.
