The Head of Faith
صبر اور ایمان
الصَّبْرُ مِنَ الْإِيمَانِ كَالرَّأْسِ مِنَ الْجَسَدِ، وَلَا خَيْرَ فِي جَسَدٍ لَا رَأْسَ مَعَهُ، وَلَا فِي إِيمَانٍ لَا صَبْرَ مَعَهُ.
ایمان میں صبر کا وہی مقام ہے جو بدن میں سر کا ہوتا ہے؛ جس طرح وہ بدن بے کار ہے جس کا سر نہ ہو، اسی طرح وہ ایمان بے فائدہ ہے جس کے ساتھ صبر نہ ہو۔
“Patience is to faith what the head is to the body; there is no good in a body that has no head, and there is no good in faith that has no patience.”
Reflections: Imam Ali ؑ uses a vivid biological metaphor to explain spiritual resilience. Just as the head contains the senses and the brain that govern the body, patience governs our reactions to life’s challenges. Without patience, a person’s faith becomes reactionary and fragile, easily collapsing under pressure. True belief is anchored by the ability to remain steadfast and content with the Divine decree during difficult times.
