Muqaddamat-e-Namaz
نماز کے مقدمات اور شرائط1. Taharat (Purification)
The body and clothes must be clean from Najasat (blood, urine, etc.). One must be in a state of Wudhu or Ghusl.
۱۔ طہارت: نمازی کا بدن اور لباس نجاست سے پاک ہونا چاہیے۔ نیز نمازی باوضو ہو یا اس پر غسل واجب نہ ہو۔
2. Waqt (Time)
Prayer is only valid if performed within its prescribed time. Performing it before the time starts makes it void.
۲۔ وقت: ہر نماز کو اس کے مخصوص وقت میں پڑھنا واجب ہے۔ وقت سے پہلے پڑھی گئی نماز باطل ہے۔
3. Qibla (Direction)
One must face the direction of the Ka’aba. If the direction is unknown, one must use a compass or signs to find it.
۳۔ قبلہ: نمازی کے لیے ضروری ہے کہ وہ خانہ کعبہ کی طرف رخ کر کے نماز پڑھے۔
4. Makan-e-Musalli (Place)
The place of prayer must be Mubah (lawfully used). It is forbidden to pray on usurped (Ghasbi) land.
۴۔ مکانِ مصلی: جس جگہ نماز پڑھی جائے وہ غصبی نہ ہو، بلکہ جائز اور مباح ہو۔
Jurisprudence of Prerequisites

Physical Purity: Body and clothes must be free from Najasat-e-Aini (Urine, blood, etc.).
Ritual Purity: One must have Wudhu (or Ghusl/Tayammum if applicable).

بدن اور لباس کا حقیقی نجاستوں سے پاک ہونا ضروری ہے۔ نیز نمازی کا باوضو ہونا یا غسلِ واجب کی صورت میں غسل کرنا لازمی ہے۔
2. Libas al-Musalli (The Worshipper’s Clothes)
- Must be Mubah (Not stolen or usurped).
- Must not be made of Pure Silk (for men).
- Must not be made of Gold-woven material (for men).
- Must not contain parts of Najas-ul-Ayn animals (e.g., pig, dog) or non-slaughtered animals.
لباس مباح ہو (غصبی نہ ہو)۔ مردوں کے لیے خالص ریشم اور سونے سے بنا لباس حرام ہے۔ نیز حرام گوشت جانور کے اجزاء لباس میں نہ ہوں۔
3. Makan (The Place of Prayer)
The place must be stable (not moving violently) and Mubah. The place where the forehead is kept (Sajdah spot) must be pure (Tahir) even if other parts of the place are not.
Rule: If a person knows the place is usurped (Ghasbi) and prays there, the prayer is void (Batil).
نماز کی جگہ مباح ہو اور حرکت نہ کر رہی ہو۔ سجدہ گاہ (جہاں پیشانی رکھی جائے) کا مکمل طور پر پاک ہونا واجب ہے۔
4. Qibla & Waqt (Direction & Time)
Facing the Ka’aba is mandatory. If you are far away, the approximate direction suffices. For Time, one must ensure the Fajr, Zuhr, Asr, Maghrib, or Isha time has entered before starting.
خانہ کعبہ کی طرف رخ کرنا واجب ہے۔ اسی طرح نماز کا وقت داخل ہونے کا یقین ہونا ضروری ہے؛ وقت سے پہلے پڑھی گئی نماز باطل ہے۔
Wisdom of the Prerequisites
مقدماتِ نماز: فرامینِ معصومینؑ
The Holy Prophet (saw) | فرمانِ رسول اللہؐ
“Purification (Wudhu) is half of faith, and it is the key that opens the door of prayer.”
“طہارت (وضو) ایمان کا نصف ہے، اور یہ وہ چابی ہے جو نماز کے دروازے کو کھولتی ہے۔”
Amir al-Mu’mineen Imam Ali (as) | فرمانِ علیؑ
“Perform the prayer at its appointed time; do not hasten it because of leisure, nor delay it because of being busy.”
“نماز کو اس کے معین وقت پر ادا کرو؛ فراغت کی وجہ سے اس میں جلدی نہ کرو اور مصروفیت کی وجہ سے اس میں تاخیر نہ کرو۔”
Imam Ja’far al-Sadiq (as) | فرمانِ امام جعفر صادقؑ
“When you face the Qibla, despair of the world and what is in it, and empty your heart of every distraction.”
“جب تم قبلہ رخ ہو جاؤ، تو دنیا اور جو کچھ اس میں ہے اس سے ناامید ہو جاؤ، اور اپنے دل کو ہر قسم کی مصروفیت سے خالی کر لو۔”
Imam Muhammad al-Baqir (as) | فرمانِ امام محمد باقرؑ
“The prayer of a person who wears usurped (stolen) clothes does not ascend to the heavens.”
“غصبی لباس میں نماز پڑھنے والے کی نماز آسمان کی طرف بلند نہیں ہوتی۔”
