The 15th Whispered Prayer of Imam Sajjad (as) from Sahifa al-Sajjadiyya

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

عظیم اور دائمی رحمتوں والے خدا کے نام سے
In the Name of ALLAH, the All-compassionate, the All-merciful

إلهِي أَسْكَنْتَنا داراً حَفَرَتْ لَنا حُفَرَ مَكْرِها

میرے معبود! تو نے ہمیں ایسے گھر (دنیا) میں بسایا ہے جس نے ہمارے لیے مکر و فریب کے گڑھے کھود رکھے ہیں
My God, you have settled us in a dwelling (dunya) which has dug for us in it pits of deception,

وَعَلَّقَتْنا بِأَيْدِي الْمَنايا فِي حَبائِلِ غَدْرِها،

اور ہمیں اس کی غداری کے جالوں میں موت کے ہاتھوں لٹکا دیا ہے
We have been trapped in this world (Dunya), which deceives us and we cannot escape until we are removed by death

فَإلَيْكَ نَلْتَجِئُ مِنْ مَكآئِدِ خُدَعِها،

پس ہم اس کے مکر و فریب کی چالوں سے تیری ہی پناہ مانگتے ہیں
So In you we seek shelter from the tricks and plans of this world (Dunya),

وَبِكَ نَعْتَصِمُ مِنَ الاغْتِرارِ بِزَخارِفِ زِيْنَتِهَا،

اور تیری ہی پناہ لیتے ہیں کہ اس کی ظاہری زینت و آرائش کے دھوکے میں نہ آ جائیں
And to you we hold fast, for fear that we may be deluded by the glitter of its (dunya’s) ornaments!

فَإنَّهَا الْمُهْلِكَةُ طُلاَّبَهَا، الْمُتْلِفَةُ حُلاَّلَهَا،

کیونکہ یہ اپنے طلبگاروں کو ہلاک کرنے والی اور اپنے بسنے والوں کو برباد کرنے والی ہے
It (Dunya) destroys the ones who seeks it and ruins the ones who try to settle in it

الْمَحْشُوَّةُ بِالافاتِ، الْمَشْحُونَةُ بِالنَّكَباتِ.

یہ آفتوں سے بھری ہوئی اور مصیبتوں سے لدی ہوئی ہے
it is overflowing with problems and loaded with calamities.

إلهِي فَزَهِّدْنا فِيها، وَسَلِّمْنا مِنْها بِتَوْفِيقِكَ وَعِصْمَتِكَ،

میرے معبود! ہمیں اس دنیا سے بے رغبت (زاہد) بنا دے اور اپنی توفیق و حفاظت کے ذریعے ہمیں اس کے شر سے سلامت رکھ
My God, inspire us to renounce it and keep us safe from it by giving success to our good work and by your protecting us from sin.

وَانْزَعْ عَنَّا جَلابِيبَ مُخالَفَتِكَ، وَتَوَلَّ أُمُورَنَا بِحُسْنِ كِفايَتِكَ،

اور ہم سے اپنی نافرمانی کے لباس اتار دے، اور اپنی بہترین کفایت کے ساتھ ہمارے امور کی سرپرستی فرما
Strip away, from us the robes of sins and you take over our affairs through your sufficient management,

وَأَوْفِرْ مَزِيدَنا مِنْ سَعَةِ رَحْمَتِكَ، وَأَجْمِلْ صِلاتِنا مِنْ فَيْضِ مَواهِبِكَ،

اور اپنی وسیع رحمت سے ہمارے حصے میں اضافہ فرما، اور اپنی بخششوں کے فیض سے ہمیں بہترین عطائیں عطا کر
And give us more of your unlimited mercy, and gift us your beautiful gifts from the overflowing fountain of your grants,

وََاغْرِسْ فِي أَفْئِدَتِنا أَشْجارَ مَحَبَّتِكَ، وَأَتْمِمْ لَنَا أَنْوارَ مَعْرِفَتِكَ،

اور ہمارے دلوں میں اپنی محبت کے درخت لگا دے، اور ہمارے لیے اپنی معرفت کے نور کو مکمل فرما
plant in our hearts the trees of your love, and complete for us the light of your knowledge,

وَأَذِقْنا حَلاوَةَ عَفْوِكَ، وَلَذَّةَ مَغْفِرَتِكَ،

اور ہمیں اپنے عفو کی مٹھاس اور اپنی مغفرت کی لذت چکھا دے
And let us taste the sweetness of your pardon and the pleasure of your forgiveness,

وَأَقْرِرْ أَعْيُنَنا يَوْمَ لِقآئِكَ بِرُؤْيَتِكَ،

اور اپنی ملاقات کے دن (قیامت میں) اپنے دیدار سے ہماری آنکھوں کو ٹھنڈک عطا فرما
bring joy to our eyes by permitting us to see you on the day of meeting (Judgement)

وَأَخْرِجْ حُبَّ الدُّنْيا مِنْ قُلُوبِنا

اور ہمارے دلوں سے دنیا کی محبت نکال دے
remove the love of this world from our hearts,

كَما فَعَلْتَ بِالصَّالِحِينَ مِنْ صَفْوَتِكَ، وَالأَبْرارِ مِنْ خاصَّتِكَ

جیسا کہ تو نے اپنے برگزیدہ صالحین اور اپنے خاص نیک بندوں کے ساتھ کیا ہے
just as you have done for the righteous and selected friends, and for the pious ones, those of whom you have selected

بِرَحْمَتِكَ يا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ، وَيا أَكْرَمَ الأَكْرَمِينَ.

اپنی رحمت کے واسطے سے اے سب سے زیادہ رحم کرنے والے، اور اے سب سے زیادہ کرم کرنے والے!
By your mercy, O Most Merciful of the merciful, O Most Generous of the most generous!

This prayer is the 15th of the Whispered Prayers (Munajat) of Imam Zayn al-Abidin (as) from the Sahifa al-Sajjadiyya. It is a profound supplication for those who seek detachment from worldly desires and aspire for closeness to Allah.
