دوسروں کا خزانچی
عَجِبْتُ لِمَنْ يَنْسَى الْمَوْتَ وَهُوَ يَرَى مَنْ يَمُوتُ.
مجھے اس شخص پر تعجب ہے جو موت کو بھول جاتا ہے حالانکہ وہ مرنے والوں کو (اپنی آنکھوں سے) دیکھتا ہے۔
“I wonder at the person who forgets death while he sees people dying.”
Reflections: Imam Ali ؑ highlights a strange psychological blind spot. Humans have a unique ability to witness the mortality of others every day yet live as if they themselves are immortal. This “forgetfulness” leads to an unhealthy accumulation of wealth and a lack of moral urgency. The Imam invites us to use the sight of death not as a source of despair, but as a wake-up call to prioritize the eternal soul over the temporary body.
