Patience and Reward
“Tears do not dry up except due to the hardness of hearts, and hearts do not become hard except due to the abundance of sins.”
Reflections: Imam Ali ؑ identifies a spiritual chain reaction. He teaches that a soft heart, capable of weeping out of love or fear of God, is a sign of spiritual health. When we sin excessively, the heart becomes “calcified” or hard, losing its sensitivity to the Divine. Seeking forgiveness and practicing patience are the cures to melting this hardness and restoring the soul’s emotional and spiritual depth.
